My VPS solution 2026

Here is a little update of info on my personal hosting solution. The whole operation is composed of three various services and discrete providers:

Changed DNS from FreeDNS.si to OVH, so I can use automatic Lets Encrypt certificate renewals.

VPS

From the late 2025 I got the free upgrade to VPS-1 2026 with 4 vCores, 8GB of RAM and 76GB of storage.

In the begining I was using VPS 2016 - SSD 2 that had 1 vCore, 4 GiB of RAM and 20 GiB of storage on SSD RAID array.

From 2018 to 2025 I was using VPS 2018 - SSD 2 that had 1 vCore, 4 GiB of RAM and 40 GiB of storage on SSD RAID array.

All of the upgrades were free upgrade provided by OVH, a few clicks and a reboot of the machine was needed.

DNS service at OVH as mentioned, to support automatic Lets Encrypt certificate renewals.

Nightly backups using restic are pushed to B2 bucket at Backblaze.
